What we packed for a week in Bali

Are you going on holiday to a warmer destination? Preparing your packing list and wondering where to start? The UNIK team went to Bali recently and as a result, we've put together an edit of vacation ready pieces to inspire you to consciously fill the gaps in your travel wardrobe. Made to last pieces perfect for holiday and beyond.

UNIKSPACE has so many options for a tropical getaway. The Byron shirt in Shell was by far the most versatile piece I packed. I wore it on the plane with cords underneath, out to breakfast with my Birkenstocks and dressed it up with strappy sandals for dinner.

The Turner jumpsuit is another versatile piece that I wore to breakfast and throughout the day at the beach, fabric shopping and to meetings.

I packed the Burns and Cooper sets in various colours and alternated between them throughout the week. They are the perfect set for hot steamy days with the side splits on the Burns allowing the breeze to flow through.

A striking set with an easy elegance, the Maya skirt and Tulum top took me to sunset drinks followed by an evening dinner. The Ibiza Kaftan was the ideal dress to wear to a sunset bar, then to dinner with the splits keeping you cool and the sleeves providing protection for the cool evening air.

Usually, I know exactly what I want to bring for a summer getaway and can pack with confidence my favourite holiday pieces, but this time, being 30 weeks pregnant I made sure I tried everything on beforehand to make sure it suited my growing bump before it got a precious spot in my suitcase.

What turned out to be the number one winner for me was the Joss tunic in white together with the Cooper shorts. I wore this both to meetings during the day and out for dinner in the evening.

Other favourites I wore numerous times throughout the week was the Turner jumpsuit in Italian Strawand White, the Anya kimono in Shell over a bikini around the pool, and the Byron shirt in Shell and White. I also wore the Austen dress and Valentina silk jumpsuit out for dinner in the evening, both cool enough for the tropical heat while having that chic cocktail look when you want to be a bit extra dressed up.

Hope this helps when you're packing for your next getaway to warmer degrees, or shopping for the impending Australian summer.

I always like to go the neutral/solid colour route because they’re versatile, chic and pretty effortless when it comes to mixing and matching different pieces of items together.

No matter where I’m travelling, I’ll be packing an oversized button up shirt like the Nic shirt. It’s super versatile, laid-back and you can pretty much wear it with anything! Throw it over your swimmers as a beach cover up, pair it with shorts or a pair of pull on linen pants like the Jonathans. I’ve paired mine with my silk jumpsuit, to take me from day to night. Easy does it! Personally, it’s a most worn winner for me.

I would say that the Valentina jumpsuit saves me every time I’m going somewhere so it’s always with me in my suitcase as well. It’s so transeasonal and a great holiday piece as you could wear it to so many different occasions. It’s super flattering but also comfortable to wear. I usually wear it with a tee under during the day and at night I pair it with the Nic shirt.

If there was a perfect airport/travelling piece it has to be the Anya! So comfy and easy to throw on. It’s also a piece I put on in the morning while eating breakfast, or over my swimmers but also, for the evening I wear it as an alternative to a blazer by using the belt that comes with it. A must have in my travelling wardrobe.

As always, I pair all my holiday looks with my Bali Tailor sandals. They are so comfortable and work with everything I have in my wardrobe.
